The Home of Comfort Nursing Home, originally founded in 1896 by Mother Emma, the Head Deaconess of the Winchester Diocese, is non profit making and is a registered charity.
Originally opened with just 12 residents, the Home now offers care to 29 older people (65 years of age and over).
Located in Southsea, Portsmouth, the Home of Comfort provides daily nursing, palliative and residential care.
Residents are welcomed on short or long term basis and the Home provides an ideal location for a respite break.
We pride ourselves on offering a highly professional 24 – hour care service in a secure, open and friendly atmosphere, where the residents’ welfare and happiness are of paramount importance.
Any person choosing to make the Home of Comfort their home need have no concern. Our aim is to make their stay an enjoyable phase of life where individuality is emphasised, where the worry of caring for oneself and the labour of housekeeping can be forgotten in the knowledge that others are there to help if it is needed.
A comfortable twin bed, bed and breakfast facility, with en suite, is available at the Home for next of kin and friends of residents who may require accommodation when visiting.
The Home can provide a meal(if forewarned) for a visitor for which a small charge is made.
