The Home of Comfort

IMPORTANT COVID-19 INFORMATION

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Home has put in place a number of emergency measures, including the restriction of visiting to emergency situations only. We are following all appropriate government guidance and will keep the situation under very regular review.

We know how important visits are to everyone at the Home, including friends and family members, and this is a last resort for us, but our priority must be to protect safety.

If you would like to be kept in touch with how the situation develops, please pop your details in the form below to receive emails from us. We try to send an update every 7 - 10 days.

You can also join our closed 'family and friends' group on Facebook which you can find here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/homeofcomfortfriendsandfamily

The Home of Comfort Nursing Home, originally founded in 1896 by Mother Emma, the Head Deaconess of the Winchester Diocese, is non-profit making and is a registered charity.

Originally opened with just 12 residents, the Home now offers care to 29 older people with Nursing needs, both long term and palliative. We also offer respite care when we have space available.

The Home is located in a quiet area of Southsea, Portsmouth, but is close to local shops and amenities and within walking distance to the sea front.

We pride ourselves on offering the highest quality care to all of our residents. The Home has staff on duty - including Nursing staff - around the clock, in a secure, open and friendly atmosphere, where the residents' welfare and happiness are of paramount importance.

All of our residents are encouraged to take part in our program of activities, and to consider this their Home from the day that they move in. We welcome visitors, and for a small charge a meal and/or accommodation can be arranged.
